Introducing Deidre Loiselle-Root, our Fan of the Week!



When did you first hear about the band?
"The first time I heard of Sick Puppies was when the All The Same single became popular. I really liked the song and decided to pick up the Dressed Up As Life and fell in love with the entire album."

What is your favorite song?
"A favorite song ? Hmm that's hard... but I would have to say Howard's Tale. It's dark but it has a back story story that can be interpreted many different ways. I would have to say there isn't a SP song that I don't like, I can appreciate them all for different reasons."

Are you a member of the SPWC forum? If so, why did you decide to join?
"The SPWC actually popped up in my Newsfeed because I had previously liked "Sick Puppies" and it was a suggested post. It interested me because it's a way to get more in touch with the band. I'm not a member of the forum as of right now only because I recently came across this page and haven't had a chance to look into it as of now."

Where are you from?
"I'm from Vermont. So far I've been to the local concert hall, Higher Ground to see the Sick Puppies here once - but they have come multiple times before that. I'd definitely go again if they decided to take a stop on their next tour!"

Why do you love them?
"I love the Sick Puppies because they are different. All of their songs have a story within them and can be interpreted by many different ways and by many different people. They have songs to mosh to (The Bottom), songs about relationships (All The Same), songs to relate to (Odd One) and fun songs (Say My Name). I can't wait for the new album, and you'd think that as much as I listen to the older albums that I would get sick of them, but I don't (: I really like that the band is small, it gives it a more intimate feeling when just a few people are making such great music together. I especially love that Emma is a large part of the band, she is an inspiration herself for not just being a chick but kicking some major ass on the bass."

Fun fact:
"I'm currently going to school to be a Graphic Designer, I think it would be pretty rad to design clothes/posters/albums covers for bands like Sick Puppies!"
