Ok so I have Congestive Heart Failure..not pretty I know and my dumb ass is STILL smoking...can you say Idiot? Anyway the weather here in Fresno is hella hot and I can't even go outside let alone walk from my living room to my bathroom without having to stop to catch my breath. I have fluid on or in my lungs and need to go to the doctor but have no health insurance. So I made Missy hide my cigarettes tonight and this is it. I just wanna be able to breathe and be around long enough to eventually see my grandkids or grandpuppies hehe I know it's gonna be hard but it has to be done. Wish me luck!

You can do this Shari !!! I was a smoker for over 15 years and I quit cold turkey a year and a half ago. If I can do it you can too. If you're gonna go cold turkey, then just having Missy "hide" your cigarettes isn't doing you any good !!! She needs to destroy them, because you are DONE smoking !!! It was kina hard the first couple weeks, but I kept telling myself how gross and disgusting it was, and that I was only killing myself if I kept smoking. That self convincing really helped me. After about 6 weeks I had no desire to light one up at all because they were repulsive to me. Food even started tasting better after quitting !!! Ohh yeah, another thing you must do, is NEVER purchase another pack to have around "just in case" !!! Everytime ya "feel" like going to buy a pack, take that money and put it in a jar and save it. When I saw how much money I was wasting on that disgusting sh*t, it really helped too. You have my support Shari, this is one time in your life where you win by quitting !!!

Brian is right, leaving cigarettes around will not help. I used to smoke also and as long as the temptation is there, it is very easy to get back into it. You can do it! We're all here to support you whenever you need it

I am sorry to hear that you have Congestive Heart Failure but I am so glad that you are trying to do something to help it out. I agree with Brian don't have Missy hide them, completely destroy them. And no don't keep one or two just in case becaus eit will just lead to another pack. I have faith in you 100%. If you need someone to scream and yell to just let us know we will be there for you. Thank you guys! I know I'm not her, but I appreciate these kind words as well. I ALWAYS support my mom in this, and it doesn't work. I hope it will work this time because quite frankly, I would be completely lost without her. (She has no idea I am writing this right now) I know she can do it, it's just a matter of having everything go right. I really don't know what I would do if the cigarettes won and I lost my mom...
