The American Red Cross has kicked off its annual drive to collect holiday cards for distribution to military members - deployed, in military hospitals, active & retired, and their families - worldwide.

Great idea! One of my best friends is married to a Marine and they have now been in Japan for almost 3 years.

REALLY happy that you're all liking this idea. It means a lot to me, since it's an undertaking that I began last year, as I faced the holidays without my dad for the first time. This year, I decided that I'd keep doing it, in his memory.

The FB page that I created for this cause has gained over 100 'likes' in just a week. To those of you who are one of those 'likes': THANK YOU!

My dad's family basically walked out of my life the day he died & have ignored every memory & memorial type of effort that I've made - including this one. To know that there's people out there that don't know me, that never knew my dad, yet don't hesitate to support my project (as simple & small as it is)....is helping restore my belief that there are good people out there, who actually care about others.
