New Member: Do you guys know about the new song from Sick Puppies?

Its such a kick ass song. Its called The Rising. I heard its on the new album, but that album is not released yet. I was wondering if it was like a single or something.

They made it for the entrance video for the professional hockey team in Dallas. Like 500 people tweeted at the arena DJ saying "What song is that?!" and he responded "Its 'The Rising by the Sick Puppies. Will be released very soon'" but this was back in October. He's a very popular DJ, and he's answered it the same way every time... that its by the Sick Puppies. I'm not sure if he's like way far off or what, because its not really the type of music they normally play. Kick ass song still. But it hasn't been released yet though. I figured this was the place to come to ask the question!

The song "The Rising" is by the current line up of Sick Puppies with Bryan Scott on vocals. It is being used by the Dallas Stars of the NHL. It is not the single. There is no information on whether it will be released on their next album.

Personally, I love it. The vocals are so on point! Can't wait to hear it from the studio.

I think my beloved Utah Jazz might be better to use this rather than Shinedown's State of My Head. I think it's giving a rather mixed signal to the players.

That being said, I have to say that STYG is so much better overall. Just listening to it ... it just doesn't have the same hard edge. And that makes sense when they're playing it for fans in a hockey arena. But god, it's Hockey! The most metal of all the sports! Just a tad popish. But not bad at all.

The Rising was made for the Stars, it is not on the album for a reason. Its a cool song, but it doesn't fit with the other songs.
