Other concerts you're going/been to...

Just got back from a much needed de-stressing vacation... visiting some friends and went to a couple shows.

Last friday I went to a super heavy show... not generally bands I like recorded, but nothing de-stresses me more than a heavy metal show with a good pit, haha. That one was Carnifex, Rings of Saturn and Lorna Shore. The people watching is always fun at these type of shows... stood on the edge of the pit for most of it.

Then last night I went to see Amaranthe, Failure Anthem, Citizen Zero, Cypher16 and Smash Into Pieces. It was a bit of a strange bill because the openers were all "regular" mellower rock, and Amaranthe is melodic metal, so the room was a little dead through four bands, then it just exploded when Amaranthe came on. I've also been a huge Smash Into Pieces fan for awhile, so I was thrilled to finally get to see them live on their first-ever North American tour. (They're a lesser known band from Sweden).

Went to Dorothy back in February and then this month we're seeing the Coathangers - which is going to be awesome and hopefully much better than the last time since the last time it ended with us in the ER when an issue with my girlfriend's heart popped up at the worst possible time.

Bit of a drought for me lately... but that'll end in just under a month! Going to Carolina Rebellion again and it's going to be awesome!!! By far my favorite of all the major US festivals just for the way it's laid out. It's more like a "real" festival... in a huge field instead of a stadium/parking lot.

Going to be seeing Eyes Set to Kill and Letters From the Fire next month. Loving my female fronted bands.

I am really excited to be seeing Highly Suspect for the first time in July!

Also if you guys liked My Darkest Days check out the band "Never Say Die". The lead singer and the bassist are former MDD guys and they still perform some of the MDD songs and their originals are great too!

Ill agree with the above posts, Never Say Die is a great band, i would definitely recommend checking them out!

Super excited... going to see Parkway Drive next week with all my metalhead friends. We're almost never all available for the same shows these days, so it'll be fun
