Hmmm..little Shim story

At the Providence show on 7/20..i met these cool kids that I've been to a few of the same shows as. WELL, we saw Shim go into a restaurant/bar across the street so the girl, my boyfriend and I went in too She wanted to use the bathroom anyway. So we went to the bathrooms and my boyfriend went into the men's and was like uhhh..he isnt in here..? And the girl and I were like WTF?? Where could he have gone?? Then suddenly Shim comes out of the womans room and it like ...sorry.. lolz
On our way out he was reading by himself at a table and I said hi to him and that I'd see him at the show. I didn't really want to disturb him cause he obviously went in there to get away for a while. Then after the show I talked to him for a bit at the merch table and he said he remembered me from MA..and my boyfriend was like yeah she even follows you into restaurants! Shim was like yup I remember you from there too!

okay i have a new shim story to tell. i'm happy to say i've gotten over my..... mesmerization haha.

sooo i was waiting in the merch line with my friend at the show in burlington on 7/21 and when it was almost our turn shim looked our way so i smiled at him and he smiled back with this huge goofy smile and i started laughing. when it was our turn i said hey to emma and mark, then i walked up to shim and told him that he inspired me to play guitar and write my own lyrics. he smiled and said "thats great!" and then he was like "just don't let anyone give you sh*t for it... stick with it and keep writing." and i said i would. theeennnn (i almost didn't do it!) i asked him for a hug and he said of course... he really does give great hugs! so then i told him they should come back to the philly area, said goodbye and walked away. for about 10 minutes afterwards i was just like "OH MY GOD. i hugged shim!!!!!!!" haha

okay i know it may not sound like much but i really am proud of myself that i didn't chicken out this time and i actually talked to him instead of standing there staring in awe.

then i thought of what he said and i kept writing.
