Where/When did you first hear the Sick Puppies? (POLL)

I was just curious how everyone got into the band, the Sick Puppies. Post your stories below....

I got into the band, when I heard their song "All the Same" from the YouTube Free Hugs Video. I loved the music, checked out the band site, and the next day went out and bought the CD.

I saw them at an Evanessence Concert in Manchester, NH and just fell in love with them, you know?

I'd heard "All the Same" on my local radiostation many times.
I really like the song a lot.
I've seen many people with FREE HUGS tees on at A LOT of the shows I saw last year.
(I'd been to 30 or so, including music festivals).

When I really started getting into Sick Puppies
is when I heard they were touring with Evanescence.
I started looking them up, and listening to more of their music.
But I fell in love the first time I saw them live, opening for Ev,
at the Greek in LA (when Amy sang Happy Bday to Shim).
I didn't get to meet them that night because I was on the rail,
PIT, and didn't want to lose my spot for Ev.
The only thing I bought that night was my SP Heart tee.

From then on out I've gone to every show they've had in SoCal.
(except one acoustic show and the STAR lounge performance :cry:

)
I've gotten to meet them and chat with them all many times.
I love being a Sick Puppies Ambassador.
I've gotten extra CDs to spread the love to other potential fans.
I'm doing everything I can to promote the band, the music, the shows.
They are wonderful people, with great music, who put on amazing shows.

I first heard of them when I found that "Say My Name" cover lol, I thought it was hilarious and slowly but surely got into them (basically the "Free Hugs" video did it), so ever since the EP got released on Dec 2006 I've been addicted

When I saw them open for Evanescence in Champaign, IL. And then again the next night in Moline.

I saw the All the same music video on the t.v. which is the first one with the free hugs. I started listening to there stuff and starting likeing them but it was when I saw them in concert was when feel in love with them.

I heard All The Same on a MySpace page and then went to their website to check them out. I decided I NEEDED Dressed Up As Life, and I got it that day. And so the obsession began...

i was scanning this site,
i cant remember the name exactly.. ( it was something like newmusic.com)
and as soon as i saw the name "sick puppies", i just knew.. they had to be awesome/interesting.
then i youtubed them, like any other good rock band, they had to be on there..
i saw the "fly" video, and they blew me away, then i watched every video on/of sick puppies that day,
....it was like love at first sound/sight, anyways i begged to get the album, and ended up buying it 3 days later.
i also found it awesome how emma was in the band. and i thought shim had the greatest voice(plus hes really hot)
too bad fly isnt on there anymore.. its on myspace though.

I heard the "Free Hugs" video over a year ago or so and I liked it. But then I didn't really get into them until I heard they were touring with Ev. And then after I saw them, I was hooked! :love:

My brother saw them in Atlanta last year when they were opening for Breaking Benjamin. Then Breaking Benjamin did not go on, but he loved SP. Then last October we were on a road trip and he popped "Dressed as Life" into my cd player in the car and that was all it took for me. :music:

I heard "All the Same" on the radio back in September of 2007...went and bought the CD the next day.....was pretty much hooked. I waited and waited to hear of news of a tour and in March of this year they performed at the TLA in Philly....the rest is history :biggrin:

I heard all the same on the radio in July 07. Immediately went home and bought the cd on itunes. Like so many stories before me, I fell in love with the music right away. I was fortunate enough to see them headline 10 minutes from my house just a few weeks after I first got the cd, last August. Every show I have been to so far, they've headlined, so I consider myself quite lucky. I had kind of fallen out of the music scene for a while, but they brought me right back in. Since then, I saw them in March of this year and just a few weeks ago. I'm going again tomorrow and hopefully again in September (Chicago). Each time I have met them has been better and better. When I found this site (a little over a month ago) it was like, duh, I should totally be an ambassador! And the first Michigan one, to boot! If only I'd found SPWC sooner!

Hmm... heard All the Same on XM last summer and became addicted to that song. Wanted to see them in concert several times, but never had anyone to go with. Went to a free acoustic secret show in March and became hooked after that. :crazy:

I heard All The Same on the radio last year and fell in love with it. Unfortunately, I thought they were called "Sick Puppy" so when I tried to google them I only found pictures of sick dogs. None of my friends had heard of them at the time so no one could correct me or lead me in the right direction :tongue:

I eventually found them though :laugh:

I first heard the song "All The Same" on a friends myspace page, and I asked her who sung it, ofc she told me Sick Puppies. I had them in mind for about a week, but eventually I ended up forgetting the name. BUT! my other friend invited me to go to an Ev. Concert with her and thank jesus, Sick Puppies were an opening band.

And that's my story. haha. :laugh:
