Where/When did you first hear the Sick Puppies? (POLL)

I (also) fell in love after seeing them open up for Evanescence in Dec. '07. We were at the second to last show of the tour and I looked the Pups up online because we wanted to see what they were all about. It didn't take long to come across the Free Hugs video on YouTube and I had remembered seeing it earlier that year. We liked their music but it was nothing compared to the admiration we felt after seeing them perform.

I remember asking people if they'd heard of them and everyone thought I meant "Skinny Puppy."

one day, a little over a year ago, i saw the free hugs video on tv. i really liked the song so i looked up the lyrics and saw that it was called All the Same, by a band called Sick Puppies. at first i thought Sick Puppies? what an odd name. so for a while the only song i listened to by them was all the same. then one day i came to my senses and thought well if this songs this good i wonder how the rest of their songs are. so i listened to their songs on napster, fell in love, bought the album etc etc you know the drill. and it grew into what would eventually become a sick puppies obsession.

I actually first heard Sick Puppies while I was in my ex girlfriends car with her... I didn't know what to think because at that time I was getting into poppier things and what not such as Bowling For Soup, etc and still addicted to my Coheed And Cambria (which I broke my addiction from! YAY!) So lets jump a couple years later, I get told they are going to be at the taste of mn... I saw them perform live and I loved it! So then I went and got the CD at Best Buy the next day and got hooked from there...

Well I was drinking with my friend and we were playin music on OnDemand and I wondered what kind of band Sick Puppies was SO I turned them on it was My World. I completely related at that time so I played it like 5 more times. THe next day bought the cd went on the internet saw the free hugs video and that they had a show in my state the next week so I went out bought the tickets. Went to the show and was completely hooked for good.

I herd them on the site Pandora.com when I did a playlist of bands that sound like incubus. It wasnt untill I saw them open for Flyleaf that I became completely hooked. That was well over a year ago... I've been to 6 shows ever since and plan on seeing them for the 7th in sept.

I first saw them open up for Evanessence this past December and was completely hooked went home and downloaded every SP song ITunes had...My friend Katy(peeka) and I went to the Poughkeepsie Concert last month and I helped out now Im here and happy to be!!!!!

The first time I heard the puppies was back in November of '06. I was at a birthday party for a friend at a local club and they were playing that night. I got hooked INSTANTLY, I spent the last 5 dollars I had then to get the CD they were selling and listened to it non stop even though at that point it was only the 5 tracks. It was infectious and made me hunt them out on the net. After that I couldn't get enough of them and have been in love ever since.

I always try to know in advance who's opening for the band I'm gonna see so that way I can look them up and not be a complete noob for like an hour, anyway SP & Julien-K were opening for the last leg of Ev's TOD tour so I looked both of them up and somehow SP just kind stood out more (mainly because they had a female in the band and that sorta thing always sticks out to me)and after the show I was completely blown away (esp. by emma) [I was in the front row and my god Emma was right in front of me, I couldn't get my eyes off of here she's so freaking intense] anyway I quickly became a "die hard"fan and right after the concert I bought their CD since before hand I couldn't find it =[

Seeing parts of All the Same on Fuse.
I thought at first it was MSI because the bassist (Emma) was a chick. I was really confused why they would do a cute video so of course, I googled the lyrics, found out the title, youtube-d it, watched related videos, and tada! Instant fan.

I heard them on the Rock channel on MusicChoice through my digital cable system. First song was "My World" and I could really identify with the lyrics, so I wrote their name down on an envelope. A few weeks later, I came across the envelope and almost threw it away. Then I looked them up myspace, watched some videos, got a crush on Emma, bought the CD, been listening to it daily ever since. Today I bought a ticket to see them for the first time next Friday. Can't wait. I'm sure glad I didn't just throw that envelope away.

I saw the bands video for "All The Same" and i thought that Sick Puppies was like a really famous band that I had "heard of" but never really heard. So I was watching the video and saw Emma kick the amps and throw the bass and I was like WHOA!! So I went on itunes and bought the song and the video. But then I noticed that they only had one album out. So I started asking all my friends who have really cool tastes in music if they had ever heard of them and none of them had. So then I was like "So they aren't realllllyy famous" So then I went on youtube to look up some more songs and to try to figure out where I had heard them before. I found "My World" and the "Free Hugs" videos and remembered that I had seen the free hugs video a while back. So basically I thought they were like Green Day famous until I realized they weren't but are bound to be.

I'm weird I know.

A friend of mine found out about the band on the internet and sent me My World. I thought they were very good. And one day i decided to look for videos on youtube. I saw Emma playing live for the first time and (maybe just a coincidence buuut) i have been learning to play the bass for a few months now. It drove me crazy, and that was it. I became obsessed with them!

I was on one of my friend's myspace pages and she had project playlist so i was scrolling through when i saw a band called sick puppies and i was like sick puppies ...sounds interesting so i clicked on the song and i thought it was pretty good so then i looked them up on project playlist and listened to their other songs and sadly at first i didn't really like them but after looking up lyrics and really listening to the music. i started to love their songs so later bought the CD saw them live and now have a sick puppies obsession

I have know a few people who didn't like them till they listened to them a bit more so we won't hold that against you. But glad you like them now.
