I took a good long time to decide about getting mine. I think I was 26 (or 25, can't really remember) when I got it. I had an idea in my head about it for a long time, but I tried to wait to get until I was really inspired and motivated....I figured it would be more meaningful that way.

In any case, I have the Evenstar symbol from LoTR on my lower back.....I wasn't so keen on the whole "tramp stamp" thing (as my brother lovingly calls it), but I figured even when I get old and wrinkly that area probably won't sag so much....haha. I'll post a pic soon.

I've wanted another one for awhile, but I'm not sure where I'd get in. I kind of prefer them in obobtrusive places, but despite that I've always wanted one on my wrist. I figured I'd get a jack o' lantern or pumpkin or something because I was born on Halloween.....come to think of it, that would be a great way to commemorate my upcoming 30th b-day. I might have to start considering that.....if anybody finds any good pics of jack o' lanterns, send them my way :)

Yeaaaaa, so my friend Chris has a tattoo kit, so he told me he would tat me for free. Since he has no training and not a lot of experience, I wasn't getting anything big or detailed from him. So I got a shamrock on my ankle I'm a Sox/Celtics fan, but mostly because I'm Irish. I got it about a year ago, and it was really faded. So last week I went to him to get it touched up, and it looked a lot better. Come Friday, I noticed it was peeling, no big deal right? Wrong, as It was peeling, basically all of what he touched up peeled off. Guess you get what you pay for right?

Edit: BTW Tara, Tat looks great!

^^ about a week after you get a tattoo(even a touch up), it's common to start peeling... I thought I'd lost all my colouring too but the colour comes in after the peeling is complete... at least that's what happened with me

I hope your tattoo turns out ok

^I hope so too, it looks really bad, but if thats common, maybe it will look better after I'm done. It didn't happen when I first got it done.

thank you :)

it looks better now since it is all healed, and mine actually hardly even peeled at all, i was really surprised.
like it peeled a little, but it wasnt as bad or gross as most people say it is, it was just really itchy, so i would have to very gently rub it.

tattoos are addictive. i started with a star on the side of my heels and now im at a half sleeve on my right arm and a few others. i have mom and pop sparrows on my shoulders right above my collar bones and those hurt. althought the most pain was probably from the feet. ouch. i love tattoos though. which is why i am learning how to do them. being as how i drew my tattoos and alot of my friends tattoos i figured why not pick up a new hobby. tattoos are a great source of personal expression but of course ya gotta think about 'em before ya put it on you. i cant wait for my next one! starting a graffiti piece on my right leg and also putting a salvador dali drawing on my back. i cant wait!

I want a million more though, Billie Joe's signature, spray of stars, a guitar with trumpet lillies, heartogram...
