I first saw them in the local newspaper, as it said that they were playing a gig in a few weeks time. It also said that this would be their last tour in Australia before leaving for America as they had signed a record deal... And it was essentially that, which piqued my interest as I was thinking I should probably check 'em out in case they get really big overseas and then I could say, well I saw them before they got big

Unfortunately, I had an exam the next day, so I had to stay home that night. I should've gone anyway, but I think I was in grade 12 at the time so..ya know it would've been pretty important But it wasn't until last october that I heard "My World" on the radio, I kept hearing the "welcome to my world" and something about it just stuck with me and the next time I was on the internet I googled the lyrics and found out it was them and I realised that it was the same band that I had missed out on seeing years earlier! Can you say dang it or what!

I previewed the song on iTunes, to make sure it was the right song and the rest is history

anyway I'm pretty sue I mentioned it but I researched them when I heard they were touring with Ev. and was hooked then I saw them live and became obsessed

I think I've told this story before, but my friend Zack, who I like to refer to him as our "new age hippie" put up the free hugs video in a blog. I watched it and I thought the message was incredible, but the song had me completely hooked. I did a little bit of research, and the next day I talked to Zack about it. Apparently he was already planning a free hugs event at our school, so when I mentioned how much I loved the video, he asked if I would like to join him with his Free Hugs day...of course I did. I then became friends with someone else who knew of the band and had the cd and HIGHLY recommended it. I think I went out and bought it that weekend. Since then I have been hooked! So far I have brought a group of different people with me to their shows and then they all get hooked. I say NETWORKING is GOLDEN!


Not to get off topic, but Zack has written a book called "Tongue-In-A-Teenagers-Cheek: A guide to relationships, society, and you". I am proof reading it and he is about to sign with an agent, so look for it some time next year. It AWESOME and incredibly insightful.

I was sitting at my buddys house playing beer pong it was early march of this year and he asked me if I ever heard of SP and I was like who? He bought their cd at Best Buy acouple days before and he just bought if because he liked the album cover so he put it in and we ended up listening to it over and over again for about 2 hours. The next day I was surfing the web and noticed that they were playing in my area the following week so I bought tickets and ended up going and it was just awesome. I bought a shirt, their cd, and a poster that i got signed by them. Well after that it has been all about SP I couldnt stop talking about them to all my friends and everyone I knew. Since then its been history in the making.

Late at night I watch one of the cable tv radio channels and they play World all the time. Loved the song and also thought it was very cool that they had a female bass player! So then I bought the cd, and then lucked into seeing them live twice!

When Becky (Vertigo) started getting all fangirly about them, I looked up some songs on YouTube and thought here were pretty good. I didn't really get into them until I was stuck in a car with Mari (northernstar), who blasted them non-stop.

I actually became familiar with SP through a friend on facebook, from Alberta (Canada). We have the ilike app on there, and I was checking out his music one day, and came across a song that was dedicated to him from another friend. It was the video, All The Same! Well, I fell in love with the song, and not to mention Shim is soooo hot..lol! But I'm sure I'm not the only fan who thinks that. So I then went on youtube and checked into the band and the music some more. And that was it, I fell in love with them, and the story goes on and here I am!

i remember it like it was last night. it was back when i was still living in an aprt and well it was the middle of the night and i couldnt sleep. so i turned on the box to see what was on and ended up on MTV2 cause they still play music videos. thats when it came on, all the same, and i was like wow thats pretty amazing. then next day i got online and checked out the sickpuppies and the free hugs campaign and its been magic ever since.
