Re: 2008 Presidential Elections
Serge,
That's the age old question my friend. Which one is better for or less destructive to our planet? Both of them require use of our natural resources...Plastic is made with petroleum, and it really isn't biodegradable, so when it ends up in a landfill, it will still be there 100 years from now. If we reuse them like I do for trash can liners for my small trash cans, at least they are being used again before going to a landfill. Plus I think they can be recycled, but I'm not positive about that. Now paper on the other hand requires our precious trees to be cut down. What sucks is that them darn trees grow so friggin slow. Yeah, its a renewable resource whereas petroleum isn't, but it takes so long to replace them. Another pro to "paper" is that it is biodegradable and won't sit in the landfill for 100 years or more, and can be recycled too. So I really don't know which is really better or worse.

think about it this way. one day, a long time from now when man is gone from this Earth, the trees will grow back. however, those plastic bags will still be sitting there.

Just another political add, but it wasn't made by either the Republican or Democratic nominees:

Re: 2008 Presidential Elections
For those planning to vote for McCain, quick question for you. Are you really comfortable having Palin as President if something happens to McCain?

Re: 2008 Presidential Elections
Good thing I'm not voting McCain lol.
.....I dislike both top candidates, but I'd rather not have another 4 years of Bush o.O
And well, voting for a third party is pretty much pointless and just ends up going against one of the top 2.

Re: 2008 Presidential Elections
Howard,
Actually I would rather have the roles reversed for McCain/Palin. Sarah has executive experience as a governor...non of the other 3...McCain, Obama, or Biden have any executive experience. Mrs. Palins ideals are also more closely matched with mine than McCain's are. So yeah, I wouldn't mind having her as Commander-In-Chief from the get go.

Re: 2008 Presidential Elections
I think any of the campaigns that McCain and Obama have been running have more people than what Palin has been in charge of. I don't know about her ideals but I'm not crazy about her flipping sides on that "bridge to nowhere". She has pulled in a lot of new voters though. I think it's funny that with all the talk of Obama being a celebrity that Sarah's turning out the be the biggest celebrity, down to the Britney Spears- like gossip.

Re: 2008 Presidential Elections
OMGahhhhh, I am friggin' scared shitless of this lunatic !!! He wants to disarm this country! Obviously he doesn't believe in peace through strength. Does he really think the rest of the world will lay down its arsenals for us ? He must think he can gather Iran, the taliban, the jihadists and the rest of our enemies around a campfire and sing "Kum Ba Yah"

This video has been deleted by the poster due to it being found to be nothing but propaganda.

Re: 2008 Presidential Elections
Brian, the sex ed. in kindergarten comment was taken out of context and put in the video that way to obviously make people think he really thinks that. It's called propaganda. You can tell he's laughing at the thought of it, and that it was even said about him. The whole crowd was laughing at the ridiculousness. Perhaps instead of watching youtube clips you should watch the whole speech if you really want to be informed.
And I don't see how the other one says he wants to "disarm our country". Cutting spending on useless defense methods is bad?

Re: 2008 Presidential Elections
Becky, if ya know where the whole clip of Obama's speel on sex ed is, please send it my way. I'd like to see wtf he was "really" talking about. And ya should probably listen to your Obama friend again, as he is talking about us dismantling our nuclear arsenal which is in place to keep the peace, or is that out of context too? I coulda swore that's what he said. As long as we have that "threat of retaliation" for any country launching a first strike, there will likely never be one.
