http://abcnews.go.com/video/playerIndex?id=3386492

"Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., told Planned Parenthood Tuesday that sex education for kindergarteners, as long as it is 'age-appropriate,' is 'the right thing to do.' 'But it's the right thing to do,' Obama continued, 'to provide age-appropriate sex education, science-based sex education in schools."

"Barack Obama supports sensible, community-driven education for children because, among other things, he believes it could help protect them from pedophiles. A child's knowledge of the difference between appropriate and inappropriate touching is crucial to keeping them safe from predators."

"Still, The Romney campaign is already ripping Barack Obama. The campaign is sending out this You Tube video where Mitt Romney spoke about this last night in a Colorado Springs speech. Watch it here.

"I must say that Romney's comments suggesting that Obama wants to teach sex education to kindergarteners is a little misleading. Because he didn't put in the proper context, many in the audience probably left thinking that Obama is ok with the condoms and cucumber approach."

"Democratic U.S. Senate nominee Barack Obama, addressing college students Tuesday in Lisle, moved to clarify that he does not support teaching explicit sex education to children in kindergarten."

"Nobody's suggesting that kindergartners are going to be getting information about sex in the way that we think about it," Obama said. "If they ask a teacher 'where do babies come from,' that providing information that the fact is that it's not a stork is probably not an unhealthy thing. Although again, that's going to be determined on a case by case basis by local communities and local school boards."

"We have a existing law that mandates sex education in the schools. We want to make sure that it's medically accurate and age-appropriate.

So yea, I'm not so sure where the       comes in. :noclue: My own daughter knows the technical terms for her body parts and that babies don't come from the stork, but a lot of parents don't tell their children that. The video you posted was most definitely taken out of context, to make people thing he was talking about explicit sex education, and not sex ed in a scientific matter. Hell, I don't even consider that sex education, that's health class. The video was propaganda...let's make it look like Obama wants to teach our children how to "do it". (like what you were implying with all your shocked smiley faces) Hence the laughing at the obvious ridiculousness off the whole deal. Do you consider learning about ALL of your body parts, including the reproductive organs, sex ed? Or science/health?

As far as the nucs, the world would be a better place without them, no? He said he's seek to do that, not that he's just going to disarm our country and leave us weaponless while everyone else has them. He's talking about negotiations with Russia and foreign countries. I don't know, I guess I like to think of "not what America is, but what America might be". Whether or not it can actually happen, it's refreshing to see someone who wants to make it better, and who inspires other to work towards that as well. Perhaps you think the same old same old is ok, but I don't see what harm can come of negotiating and trying to find a common ground with the rest of the world as far as weapons are concerned. If they aren't willing, ok...we don't take them off hair trigger alert. :noclue:

Thanks Becky, you are absolutely right on the mark. Romney took Obama's words entirely out of context and twisted them. I'm removing that propagandish video immediately, as I would any other piece of disinformation I may post.

If Obama can somehow achieve a world without nuclear weapons, more power to him. The problem is that the technology already exsists. Even if those of us that already have them were to dismantle them, there are some unruly countries that don't give a sh*t...i.e. Iran, N.Korea...that will stop at nothing to acquire nuclear weapons. They are hell bent on destroying their enemies once they have them. I can only hope that Obama could somehow succeed at this task if elected.

This is exactly why we have a minimum voting age.

Yes, lets elect him to the most powerful position on the planet because he can deliver a speech. Again, This is exactly why we have a minimum voting age.

If I vote for Obama, it will not be because he is an eloquent public speaker.
