Well, I don't live in Texas, but my job is definitely affected by this.
I work for a hotel chain so anytime there's a major disaster,
we are usually affected.
Cancellations, power outages, evacuees, disaster relief, FEMA...
It's been really busy, but it's nice to know we are sometimes able to help people
who have nowhere else to go.

i know, it was quite scary. Luckily though, Our house only received minor damages to the roof, it's leaking somewhat, but not to bad.

*GASP* You deserve one huge hug. Glad you're okay. <3 It must have been scary as hell. The important thing to remember when your feeling scared is that the feeling will pass, and the Whoppers will come.
We (Arkansas) got some strong wind from it last night. I'll tell ya, almost nothing more scary than having your TV on, stereo on, and all your lights on when everything suddenly goes silent and pitch black. I spent the night with the flashlight pointed at the wall with my eyes wide open, convinced that every strong wind was the beginnings of a tornado. I also found my self absolutely fixated watching the flashlight dim and get strong again, trying to predict exactly when the battery will run out and what I will do then. That can't be normal.

:] <3 thanks for all the heugs and internet whoopers. It was quite an experience, the wind outside was something else, it really was.
just imagine a jet engine right outside your window and times it by ten, that's how powerful and scary sounding it was. The rain also sounded like little pin needles hitting the windows D:!
