I get that, I just don't get the bin width thing. How you can make them wider and still represent the same set of data.

^^^In my book, they have ones with different bin widths with the same info. There are just more. Is that just being more specific or something?

It sounds that way but it's hard to be sure without seeing what you're referring too.

^Thanks. We did relative frequency histograms today, and that, for some reason, kind of cleared everything up for me.

3x4=12, so you multiply the numerator by 3 as well.
3x3=9
Then you just add.
9+5=14

help with my current event for school

"The 2009 Mercedes SLR McLaren Roadster is an absolute beast. Getting a major facelift from the 2004-2007 versions, it hasn’t changed much. This is a fully street-legal car, there lies the problem. Mercedes developers in Germany are debating whether to make this standard 624 horse-power car street legal. Darting 0-60 in 3.7 seconds and being able to reach 209.00 mph, this barely makes it street legal.

My opinion is that it should be street legal as long as the overall performance isn’t modified in any way. Even if modified by a small supercharger, this could reach about 780 horse power, bypassing the limit by about 100 hp. And with only 150 built, if one person gets a hold of it, there could be serious consequences. With a base price of 1.3 million, I don’t think many people will buy this Mercedes, or “Brabus” as European makers call it. So in all, I think this is either a race only car, or a collector car that should not be modified performance wise"

its for social studies and it had to be an event from Europe. i re-wrote the article and my thoughts are on the bottom. is it good to present?

woo.. this one has too much work...
so... here you go...

pick out a board, boots and bindings...(prices posted below...)
you can rent the equipment too.. (prices posted below..)
figure out how many times you can rent the equipment before it is cheaper to buy it.
figure out if it is worth it to buy a season pass,
assume you board once a week, and 3 weekends per month.
then, figure out how many hours you have to work to pay this all off if your paid $7.25/hr.

full season pass: $390
week pass: $285
sunday pass: $285
saturday pass: $285

boots 1: $139.95
boots 2: $199
boots 3: $249.85

bindings: $160

snowboard 1: $329
snowboard 2: $499
snowboard 3: $699.95

Consider the function f(x)=3((x-1)^2)-4.

a. Find f(5)
I got f(5)=104

b. Find f(n)
...what????

c. Find f(x+2)
again...what????

^You have managed to confuse me, Howard...

And are you sure about the first one? I looked on the table it made and it said 104.

Oh, I see what you did. It's a function, not an equation. I don't blame you for getting it wrong; I'll probably forget it next week. f(x) is how you represent y in a function. So I'm assuming the other two are functions as well, but I just have no idea what's being asked. Ugh, this is making my brain hurt.
