The I love Photoshop thread!!

I know there are a lot of graphic wizards out on this board, and I am personally a great fan of photoshop. So I thought a thread for asking questions, sharing tips and favourite commands was a good idea....

So here is where you can enthuse about the fabulousness of the Gaussian blur, discuss the merits of linking objects as opposed to making smart objects, rant about something that doesn't work, pick someone else's brain to make a fantastic piece of work etc etc etc...

I'm a complete PS noob, so I'll be looking forward to all the coll suggestions. I will say that selective colouring is a beautiful thing though.

Ok i know this sounds like a really dumb question but where do you buy a photoshop program? I would love to mess around and photoshop things but i have know idea whats even i good program to look for?

Photoshop is really expensive! Try and see if anyone you know might have a copy they'd be willing to lend you. Otherwise the internet is a wonderful thing...

It was a Final project. We had to use what we learned to create a book consisting of six illustrations. long story. Boring..yawn.

Ok thanks guys. So my best bet is to find someone who has it and is willing to let me borrow it. And i would imagine it's like your Microsoft Word programs that you only have X amount of installs?

Adobe and IU (my school) have reached a license agreement, allowing students to download the entire creative suite..... FOR FREE!!
