Thoughts/Favorites on Tri Polar

I've been listening to Tri-Polar non-stop since I got it at Pomona,so for like a week now, I just love it so very much.

Serge, I can't compare the two albums, either. But after everyone has gotten to know Tri-Polar well, be on the lookout for some kind of evil Tri-Polar vs. DUAL elimination game. MWHAHAHA!


And I do usually prefer heavier stuff, but there are some slower songs that turn out to be my favorite songs. Orestes by A Perfect Circle, for example...one of my favorite songs ever.


I'm beginning to like Odd One more and more. And I love my new White Balloons ringtone. <3

Everytime I listen to the album again, I pick new favorites. I can't get So What I Lied and White Balloons out of my head. It's so hard to pick a favorite because another song comes on that I think is better than the previous. I felt the same way about DUAL though too, so it's going to be hard to pick the standouts.

"White Balloons" is the current favorite, followed by "Rip Tide", but to be fair, I haven't heard the whole album yet.

I haven't bought the CD either, but I really want to... I might do it after dinner, lol.
I've been out of the loop for a LONG WHILE so I had no idea Emma was going to do portions of the vocals by herself. The beginning just makes me feel so.... peaceful? I have no idea, but it feels good. After hearing the 30 second sample on iTunes, I just HAD TO listen to it on YouTube.

I'm sure I'll return soon to say that I love 'em all when I buy it, haha. Although, I never really became attached to "War", but it's all good 'cause I have strong love for the Pups.

It's hard to pick 5 songs but now I would say my favs are :

- I Hate You : the right amount of energy
- Odd One : a beautiful bass line, the lyrics, I love the rythm/structure of the song. Don't let someone tell you you're no-one is stucked into my head
- So What I Lied : once again the rythm, in particular with monogamy is all... and don't blame me...
- Master Of The Universe : especially that slap bass !!
- White Balloons : the duet Shim/Emma, the lyrics, the ascension until the fantastic Angels lift me part with the solo.

BUT :

- War, You're Going Down and Riptide are great. It's just that since I knew them, I want to listen to the others more often
- Survive is also very cool ! As for I, I'm way too f*#king high
- Should've known better is great too, but it has to grow on me
- Maybe is a very beautiful song, but it's not what I need to hear these days
- Dont Walk Away has fantastic verses. I'm not in love with the chorus yet. The solo sounds great.
- In It For Life is awesome too ! Very nice lyrics. Some people talk like they can't hear.

This album is different, but I LOVE IT.

Now that I've listened to it many time, the songs I'm currently obsessing over are Riptide & Don't Walk Away. LOVING the bass on Riptide & Master of the Universe, and it's awesome to hear Emma singing on White Balloons.
