While the 2009 follow up to Dressed Up As Life goes in a different direction, Tri-Polar does not disappoint. There seems to be a little bit for everyone in this cd.
If you want pump up/fight anthems, look no further than "War" and "You're Going Down".
If you are looking for a hard hitting rock songs, then you are looking for "I Hate You", "So What I Lied", and "In It For Life".
Harder rock not your thing? No Worries, "Maybe" and "Don't Walk Away" are moving ballads that could easily climb the charts.
If you are a fan of bass then you are in luck because Emma Anzai, the Sick Puppies bassist, is once again a highlight of the album. To see her really shine check out the catchy tune "Rip Tide" and especially "Master of the Universe".
The album closes with "White Balloons", which is one of the best building songs I have ever heard. It starts slow and then climaxes with a guitar interlude that gives me chills everytime.
Whether you are looking for motivation, a place to vent, reassurance ("Odd One"), or just want to listen to stunning musicianship...you cannot go wrong with Tri-Polar.
