Riptide as the next single?

Rumor has it that Riptide is being considered for the next single from Tri-Polar. How do you think it would do? I think about this way too much, and was actually thinking it could do quite well. It's very different, yet has that Sick Puppies sound, and is just in all a great song. It seems to be a favorite among the fans on here. Not too soft for rock radio, but not as heavy as War and YGD, so it would show some versatility. It's a song that people seem to like right off the bat, which is good for singles....songs that are "growers" are usually not a good choice.

I think it is perfect. Has been one of my top 3 on the cd from the beginning. Has a good bassline, fun verses and a great chorus. Not much more you can ask for out of a single (except a ballad...which i expect "Maybe" to fill in the future).

Do I think it would be a good single? Yes. But then, I think if bands could release 13 singles from each album, this album would be a good one for that. Do I think it should be the next single? Well it's my number 4 personal favorite song of the non-singles from the album. Here are my top 4:
1. Don't Walk Away
2. I Hate You
3. Maybe
4. Rip Tide
So I don't necessarily think it should be the next one, but there are still less songs I like more than it than ones I like less than it (if that makes any sense), plus my personal opinions may not end up being shared by the average radio listeners, so if it's being considered, I say go for it.

personally id rather hear Survive, but Riptide isn't bad either.

At first I was kind of thinking that, considering the success of You're Going Down, they should probably ride that and release something harder, like So What I Lied or Survive, but I people just really seem to dig Riptide.

After that, then go back to the hard stuff... then something soft.

that's awesome, I love Riptide, sounds perfect to be a single.. but I want to see a video for You're Going Down first. =D

I dont think it will be the next single cause look at each songs popularity already like Itunes is usually a good indicator and Dont Walk Away and I hate You are both about tied at the top behind war and YGD then mabye and So What I Lied, and its like that for most lists jus switch I hate you and DWA sometimes-

I think it would be a good choice too. I do think that So What I lied would be a good one too. : ) That is my fave from the album. Riptide would be great too. : )

I do like the song, but I personally have mixed feelings for it as a single. I think it could go either way and do eiter really well or be like What Are You Looking For and we'd never hear it.

I think it would do great. It's a very versatile song that I think could be played on many different types of radio stations, not necessarily just the hard rock ones.

I have a feeling that this will end up being the next single but I would love for Maybe or Dont walk Away to end up as a single.

I think going with Maybe or Don't Walk Away are to much of a polar opposite to War and YGD. While showing some versatility is great, I think easing in to it with Riptide and then going with Maybe would be the best idea. I just hope they don't wait to long to release the new single. I would love for it to plaster the radio for the second half of this tour.
