Re: Riptide as the next single?
If they go with Riptide next, I hope they dont wait too long to release Maybe as a single. That song is definitely top 10, and a big potential #1.This song is perfect for a wide variety listening audience.

Re: Riptide as the next single?
Don't Walk Away, sounding like Boulevard of Broken Dreams ?
Don't be paranoiac guys. - -'
It's not because a song is soft and sounds well that it's a copy of Boulevard of Broken Dreams.
It is better than BoBD, 'cause BoBD is about nothing, it's just nice lyrics pasted with a sweet melody, nothing more, while Don't Walk Away is an emotional song.
I know when I hear it that the singer's soul is comming throughout the song, contrary to BoBD.

Re: Riptide as the next single?
I think "Riptide" is a good song, but I would really like "Maybe" to be the next single. Now about the whole Green Day thing, I think you can hear the Green Day infulence in the song...

Re: Riptide as the next single?
I actually never thought about the song sounding like Green Day. I guess the beginning is a bit reminiscent. After it gets going I don't think it does, though.

Re: Riptide as the next single?
I suddenly realized that I didn't give my views about the question... ^^'
Hum, so I don't think Rip Tide would be a good choice for a single.
Not that I don't like it, I think it's a good song, but some other songs would be better.
However, I think they have to promote this song ; but in its accoustic version, because it stays very nice so, and it's quite rare for a rock song.

Re: Riptide as the next single?
Jebus, why all the hostility towards Green Day? they're an amazing band.
....and in my view, punk isn't a sound, look, or fashion-sense, it's a state of mind. It's boring to keep making the same sound forever. At least they're progressing.

Re: Riptide as the next single?
Well, I don't know if it means anything, but when I went to the acoustic set/signing at WalMart in Tulsa a couple of weeks back, while getting my autographs, I thanked the band for playing RipTide in their acoustic set. Mark then mentioned that RipTide would probably be the next single...

Re: Riptide as the next single?
Since it's what most of the discussion in this thread has been, why don't we have a general "What should be the next single?" thread with a poll of all the non-single songs on the album as options. It will be more good discussion, and if the band hasn't chosen the next single yet, I'm sure it wouldn't hurt for them to see what their World Crew thinks it should be. Even if they have, they could check back on it when they're deciding on the next one.
