Next single, "Telling Lies"

I can't help but keep thinking how strange this apparent decision to further promote Telling Lies as a full blown single. I wonder if they are possibly just making it available to radio stations to test the waters...with all of the reviews that I have read, everybody is aching for a heavier sound and I would think they would choose from one of the songs they have been playing live like Gunfight or Walking Away...perhaps even Die to Save You.
I love the song but just don't see something that's been out there for going on a year as a new single. :noclue:

We shall see what happens!

I have to agree about Walking Away or Die To Save You. Dont get me wrong, Telling Lies is a great song but Im not sure if its the right song for a single. I think to keep people, they are gonna have to go with something a little heavier. I guess we'll have to wait & see. :noclue:

Hopefully it was a jumping of the gun?! Not that Telling Lies isnt a good song, bc it is but I personally think another song would be a better choice. :rock:

Walking Away has my vote too!

I don't know how I missed this thread, but now that the date has come and gone I'm hoping that this really doesn't become a single. I am definitely interested to hear a rock version (hopefully it's heavy!), but I agree with Dana or Cassie who said that something heavier would be a better choice. I would love to see Die to Dave You or Walking Away as singles.

And I wouldn't rule out Connect just because the sound is more Mumford and Sons. The entire album is different sounding than anything they have ever done. If the people in St Louis only like hard rock (really, an entire town that ONLY likes one genre of music?) then they probably aren't going to like the entire album at all, less a few songs. (I just wish that my fav on the album wasn't a bonus track because that has no chance to become a single. :laugh:

)

I really hope it's Die to Save You, Connect, or Run. Those are easily my favorite 3 songs on the album!!!

Am I the only one who doesn't care for Walking Away? It and Telling Lies are probably my least favorite of the 15 new songs :tongue:
