Sick Puppies and Muse

Unread postby Max Moon » 21 Mar 2009 11:32

Hi and I'm glad to see such a great location for celebrating one very underrated and talented young band.

I'm a longtime fan of the british trio Muse (I've been listening to them since fall 1999 and their very first album)and I've discovered The Puppies totally randomly on you tube.

I was checking out you tube again tonight to enjoy new tracks of them I did not listen to yet and I found this amazing live performance :

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RAm7Oo5OaIs&

What blasted me away though, was the intro of it : it s both the intro and outro of the track "Stockholm Syndrome" from Muse third effort "Absolution".

So my question is very simple : are Sick Puppies big fan of Muse ?

Are they doing this kind of impro based on other bands a lot on stage or not ?

Since Muse is my fave band ever and The Puppies my current fave one those days I was totally delighted to see them jamming so hardly on Muse (especially Emma, wow does she look powerful imitating the awesome Chris Wolstenholme here )

I, for one, Do hope Muse will choose them to tour Europe and Australia on their upcoming Tour for their next album (will get released in September 09).

Cheers !

Hey...welcome to the board! They are in fact, fans of Muse. If you sign up to be a World Crew Member (sickpuppiesworldcrew.com...the mailing list) you'll have access to the Ask The Band forum. Here is a Q&A from Emma I just pulled out of that forum regarding Muse:

Q: What is your favorite band to see live and why, or what was your favorite show ever?
A: I have to say MUSE, they rocked hard and it was face melting!!! yes face melting!! I saw them at the Big Day Out in Australia

And one from Mark:

Q: What has been your best concert to witness (which band)? :)
A: I think it would have to be Muse at the 2007 Big Day Out in australia....it was mind blowing!

Thanks a bunch for answering !

No quote about Shimon and Muse though ?

Muse are the best live band I've ever witnessed.

They're pretty mental and epic that's for sure.

I just so hope to enjoy Sick Puppies live over here in Europe so if only MUSE could check them out and someone talks to them about SP (I would If I Could meet the band but it's pretty tough now that's they are so huge worldwide).

Sick Puppies + MUSE the same night ?

Awesomeness :band:

I'd cry of extreme joy if Muse + SP on the same night happened

I'm gonna surely ask them if they plan to tour France this year  :band:

Vertigo are you a Muse fan yourself ?

I've just read they're gonna tour with U2 Next September in New Jersey as they will do the first act for Bono and Co.

This is gonna

This would be EPIC! However muse's European tour has been recently announced and takes place during sick puppies american headlining tour. Who knows, if and when Muse announces their american dates for the beginning of next year it could work out for the Pups to tour with them. Just thinking about it gives me goosebumps...

Plus matthew bellamy is such an inventive and creative guitarist, how could you not like him?
