Meet Steph, one of our rockin' ambassadors!

Check out this interview we did with Steph Bentzen, one of our awesome SPWC ambassadors from South Dakota!



1. As an Ambassador, which team or teams are you on?
"I help with the Cross Promotions Team and Radio Team.''

2. What exactly do you do on those teams?
"For the Radio Team, I help maintain a listing of radio stations across the country. For the Cross Promotions Team I help look at many websites that are about or mention Sick Puppies. We try to make sure that these are as up to date as possible."

3. Do you have any pets?
"No, I don’t have any pets."

4. Besides being an Ambassador for SPWC, what else do you do for a living?
"I work for the court system in my state. I am in the courtroom every day doing all the behind the scenes stuff that the judges need done."

5. Where do you call home?
"I live in Sioux Falls, SD."

6. How many Sick Puppies shows have you been to?
"I have been to two shows, but have 3 more on my radar for May."

7. Best concert memories?
"In December 2010, I was at the show in Council Bluffs, IA. It was the first show where I was the lead ambassador and [I] was so excited to see a couple other ambassadors. While all that is great, the best part was that it was a Sick Puppies headlining show that had to move venues because it was so popular. As it turns out there were over 5,000 people! It was so awesome seeing so many people there supporting the band."

8. Favorite book?
"I don’t have a favorite book, but I do read a lot."

9. What's the story with you and ketchup?
"I assume this is in reference to the couple pictures floating around with me and ketsup bottles. Yes, I love ketsup and was given stock in Heinz for high school graduation. Anyway back to the pictures, I was in Nashville, TN at the Hard Rock with several other ambassadors. I told the waiter that I would need a 'sh*t ton' of ketsup. He brought a bottle a few minutes later. A few minutes after that, another waiter brought another bottle. A few minutes after that, another waiter brought another bottle. This kept going and soon there were around 20 bottles on the table. Seriously, it was hilarious at the time."

10. What's your favorite task as an ambassador?
"I don’t have a favorite task. I enjoy helping in any way that I can."

11. If you could fly anywhere right now, where would it be?
Besides 19 below, I really want to go to several places including California and Washington DC, not only to see tourist stuff, but also to see some family and some old friends. I also want to go to New York and see all the tourist stuff there too. I did go there in high school, but could only see certain things as it was a school trip. I’d also like to meet a few other ambassadors, so wherever we could meet would be great. While I want to do all this, I’d have to say meeting wherever with ambassadors is probably highest on the list at the moment."

12. Growing up, who was your greatest role model/inspiration?
"I have no idea. I am not really a person to think about stuff like that."

13. What is your all time favorite movie?
"All time? Oh geez, that is a hard question to answer. I don’t know if I have an all time favorite, but there certainly are favorites depending on my mood. 'Star Wars', 'The Breakfast Club', 'Ferris Bueller’s Day Off', and 'The Goonies' seem to be my oldest of the favorites."

14. What's the weirdest thing in your refrigerator right now?
"I don’t think I have anything weird in there. I’ll eat it all."

15. What's your favorite Sick Puppies song?
"Again with the hard question…I like them all! Obviously some more than others, but I guess I’d say 'White Balloons', 'Maybe', 'Too Many Words', 'All the Same', 'Don’t Walk Away', 'My World'…crap. I can’t stop listing them. See I can’t pick!"

16. If you were a cartoon character, who would you be?
"I’m probably most like 'Velma' from 'Scooby Doo' haha. Jinkies!"

17. If your life could be a book or song title, what would it be?
"Well, right now I’m not sure. In the not too distant past I’d say 'Maybe' was my life. I really took that song to heart and made a major change in my life. I made that change and now things are much better. I just want that 'better' to continue."

18. What is your favorite lyric from a Sick Puppies song?
"Again with the hard question haha. Ummmm for this one I have no idea. It seems to change frequently."

19. If you could see Sick Puppies at any venue in the world, where would it be?
"I’d see them anywhere. Where would be completely awesome? I want to go on a European vacation and see them in someplace like Paris, London, Amsterdam, or Rome. As for a venue, pick some place cool outdoors at sunset in one of those cities surrounded by friends."

20. What other bands/music are you into right now?
"Right now, I am really into Volbeat, Halestorm, and Skillet. These, and Sick Puppies of course, seem to be the ones most frequently played in both my apartment and car these days."

I'm going and bringing along my mom, two of my friends, sister, and three of my aunts! It's going to be their first time seeing Sick Puppies, and my second!
